HOLY
BAPTISM
The Christian journey
begins with Baptism, our initiation into the community of Christ. The
Sacrament of Baptism is for people of any age. Youth and adults are
baptized when they profess the Christian faith for themselves with the
community. Children of all ages are baptized on the basis of the faith of
their parents and welcomed to the Altar
– the Family Table of God’s Community where we share in Holy Communion
together.
YOUTH
AND WORSHIP
The centre of the
Christian faith and community life is the Holy Eucharist. Here we share the
story of faith with readings from the bible, reflections on Scripture and
life, music, prayer and Holy Communion. All baptized people share in worship
and we encourage all people to explore their faith in worship whether in
traditional liturgy (Sundays at 8 am and Wednesdays at 10 am) or
contemporary language (Sundays at 10:30 am). Liturgy means the
work of the people. You are invited to share in readings, music,
offering the prayers of the people, serving at the altar, Altar Chapter,
becoming a Eucharistic minister and other aspects of the planning and
celebration of the liturgy.
SUNDAY
NURSERY
Parents of small children
share in the ministry of the Sunday Nursery beginning at 10:30 am.
Screening in Faith is an important part of our
ministry which insures that we provide a secure environment for our children.
SUNDAY
CHURCH SCHOOL
Gathers each Sunday at
10:30 am in the Parish Hall. Following classes, students and teachers
are welcomed by the whole parish family at the offertory when they share
their work, songs and other activities as the parish family prepares for
Holy Communion in which we share in the central act of our
Christian faith Every baptized person is a communicant and so we welcome all
at the Table of the Lord.
LIFE
IN THE EUCHARIST AND CONFIRMATION
Baptized people of all
ages are welcomed to the Lord’s Table weekly and children (age 7-12) are
encouraged to participate in the LIFE IN THE EUCHARIST program during the
Easter Season. Those who are in High School may register to prepare for
Confirmation when our bishop (chief pastor) visits our parish church.
YOUTH
GROUPS/SERVERS/CHOIR
Young people who have
completed the Life in the Eucharist program are prepared to serve at
the altar and at parish suppers and other functions. Some of our young
people learn about music and share in singing the liturgy with both
traditional and modern music. We plan times recreational and spiritual
activities and an annual car wash. Contact Alan Knight, Rector or Deacon Elaine for information and timetables.
